Before the rest of damage modifiers (bloody mess, ammo, etc.) get applied each shot gets checked for DT. After that each hit gets checked for a critical individually (10 dam for the HS regardless of ammo type, 15 if you have better criticals). How I understand it works: the damage is spread out between projectiles you fire, if you fire four rounds each projectile hits for DAM (70 for the HS)/projectile count. It would be awesome if my results could be repeated by my peers. I have no idea why the bean bag does 14 damage first and then 6 damage with each shot after but who really cares about bean bag damage.Įdit: It is possible that either the unofficial new vegas patch or Yukichigai's unofficial patch have changed the way DT is reduced from multiple projectiles in my game.

If anyone could explain the math for crits in regards to shotguns that would be great.

When it comes to crits, the more projectiles the better. Weapon: Modded Hunting Shotgun Dam:10 / Crit Dam:10 / Projectiles:7 So I just completed a run of in game weapon damage tests on a character with 100 guns skill and am left with questions.
